The Spiritual Roots of the Tarot Part 2 - Exploring the Treasury of Light

Public Lecture, 7.30 - 8.30 pm, 2 June 2021.

Featured Speaker:Russell Sturgess
Venue:Brisbane Lodge

Who would have thought that the tarot was originally all about Christ consciousness?

This presentation reveals the Theology of Love subscribed to by the medieval Cathars. Russell explained in Part 1 what ‘The Fool’ (Everyman/woman) had to do to pass the first Test of Agape that was necessary for re-entering the presence of God – the Test of the Flaming Sword. This was about successfully encountering the Dark Night of the Soul.

In Part 2 Russell reveals what is required to pass the second Test of Agape, which is the Test of the Cherubim. This sees the Fool enter the House of God where they encounter the Treasury of Light. This is the Cathar’s explanation for what’s required to adopt Christ consciousness. This part of their Theology of Love describes what it takes to have agape become a way of life, sustainably.

Russell Sturgess is a published author who lives on the Sunshine Coast and has been a presenter at both the Brisbane and SSC TS groups over several years.
