ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
The Brisbane Theosophical Society will be holding its Annual General Meeting and Business Convention Meeting at 11am on Saturday 6th December 2025.
Please respond to this email to let us know if you are attending. To vote, you need to be a financial member for at least 2 years.
The Committee provides leadership and strategic direction to the Brisbane Theosophical Society. Committee members attend scheduled meetings, usually monthly, and make timely decisions, action items as required and inspire engagement from the membership.
We strongly encourage you to explore the opportunity to take or continue in an active role on the Committee. To discuss nominations or request assistance in completing the Nomination Form attached, please contact Jarrod and drop in during opening hours or communicate via email [email protected] or phone 0434 188 610. Nominations close Tuesday 25th November 2025.
A quorum of 20% of our membership is required at the AGM and we would love to see you there. 11. NOMINATION AND ELECTION OF THE COMMITTEE RULES
(a) The election of the members of a Committee shall be held at the Annual General Meeting, and election shall be by a majority of votes by secret ballot.
(b) Nominations shall be in writing and signed by the nominee and two (2) financial members of The Brisbane Society. The nominee shall have been a financial member for the last two (2) years and be eligible for election according to the Constitution of The Brisbane Society.
(c) Nominations shall be lodged with the Secretary no later than ten (10) days prior to the Annual General Meeting and shall on receipt be exhibited continuously in The Brisbane Society’s rooms until the date of the meeting.
(d) Any member nominated under the immediately preceding section for the office of President shall, failing his election, be eligible as a candidate for the office of Vice-President; and any members nominated for the offices of President, Vice-President, Treasurer and Secretary respectively shall in like manner be eligible as candidates for the election as members of the Committee, all without further notice.
It would be lovely to see as many members as possible at the meeting and are excited about 2026 and looking forward to welcoming the new Executive Committee.
